I don’t think I’ve ever seen so much hysteria in our society.  It’s like Hurricane preparation country wide.

What is driving this reaction?

Media hype for sure, but what they are doing is triggering a primal survival instinct.

The media has convinced people that the coronavirus is going to kill them!

Folks, it’s no different than the flu that we face every year.

We are fearfully and wonderfully made with a God given immune system that is designed to fight off viruses like this one.

The key to the immune system is your gut.

Healthy gut, healthy body.

So, if you should stock up on anything it should be excellent Probiotics and Prebiotics.

That along with Vitamins C and D will strengthen your immune system all year round.

Now, if you have a weakened immune system, you should take precautions like limiting your time in crowds, wiping down shopping carts before using them, frequent hand washing, etc.

Should we stock up on food supplies?

Sure, it’s smart to have at least a two week supply of canned goods just in case of any emergency.

That being said, what’s the best thing we, as believers, can do in this situation?

Make sure our mind is set on Jesus being in control of all things.

The mind set on Him is at peace no matter how the storm rages around us.

Nothing, not even death from a virus, can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus.

Nothing!

Death has lost its sting, beloved.

That does not mean that we go licking hand rails to see if we can get sick to see if God will heal us.

No, we need to be cautious but not crazed with fear.

The enemy wants to trap us in anxiety, panic and fear.

Take the ‘what if’s’ captive; don’t give a place for them in your thoughts.

Instead, set your mind on the love of God and His sovereignty.

This will bear the fruit of peace in your life as His life flows through you and it will guard your mind and heart.

He will get us through this storm just like He did His disciples on the Sea of Galilee.

Why be afraid?  Trust in Jesus!

Blessings!
