We live in day when kids can grow up and not know the name of Jesus except as a curse word.
It’s so sad.
So, how many people really know what the term ‘born again’ means?
You must be born again! Say what?
That was Nicodemus’ response to Jesus. He had no clue what Jesus meant.
In this week’s Nugget of Truth video, I explain why Jesus used that term in John chapter 3 and what he meant by it.
The reality is that we are all born into the family of Adam.
We all have Adam’s human nature that is infected by sin.
We are born with a human spirit that is under the authority of sin and therefore, cut off from the life of God.
This is what makes each of us sinners from birth.
No sinner can stand in God’s presence because He is holy.
So, Jesus’ solution: be born all over again…. spiritually into His family.
How? When we put our faith in His shed blood to pay the penalty for our sin, we are spiritually reborn by first being identified with His death and burial and then His resurrection (rebirth).
We are born all over again into Jesus’ family.
We are transformed from sinners to saints! Hallelujah!
The Holy Spirit takes up residence in our human spirit, and sin’s authority over us is completely eliminated.
As believers, we are now identified by Jesus! We share His life as He co-mingles His life in and through us! WOW!
Think about this marvelous truth this week!
Next week, we will look at why, as saints, we still struggle against sin.
Blessings!

Dear Robin: Thank you for keeping me on your e-mail list. I usually can get the video. with this new computer, it is a chore- I don’t know where anything is on it.
I also have given up most everything at FBC except the mission committee. I feel at my age- soon to be 87 in March, I have a right to retire. Also facing health issues- using a walker now and more studies are being made for an accurate (?) diagnosis. When I get to church an usher comes and takes me in a wheelchair to my seat for church. (No more SS either) Retired in June from the Cancer Support Ministry.
