God is good; He is absolutely good!
Then, why did He allow evil and suffering in this world?
Why did He make Lucifer knowing that he would do what he did?
Why did He make Adam and Eve knowing they would choose to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil?
These are questions posed by more than one of my clients in the face of great pain.
God spoke the Word and declared His Creation including mankind: GOOD.
Members of his creation did not believe Him starting with those in the angelic realm.
Adam and Eve did not believe His Word to them either.
Let the demonstration begin. (Note the beginning of the word).
In essence, God was challenged to prove His goodness.
Members of the angelic realm believed they could do a better job ruling the universe especially the earth.
They did not see mankind as good.
These angelic powers stepped out from under His goodness to judge for themselves and into their experience came evil, pain and death.
This is what happens when we seek to do life apart from Him who is Life.
What did God prove?
His goodness is a bazillion times more powerful than evil.
Through the cross and the sacrifice of Jesus, His goodness has defeated evil and death by paying our debt and reconciling us to Life Himself.
Horrible atrocities have occurred throughout history some very recently in Israel.
How can a good God allow these to happen?
God will never impose His will on anyone.
Adam chose for us.
We now bear the responsibility to choose good or evil in every choice we make.
We can either seek to do God’s will which is good or follow our fleshly will and align with evil.
The consequences of choosing evil is pain and death for ourselves and people around us.
It is His goodness that brings healing from the self-induced pain and the pain others introduce into our lives.
How does healing come?
First, we have to repent for falsely judging God as not good.
Second, we have to forgive others as He has forgiven us.
Forgiving those who wound us unhooks us from them and gets us safely out of the way for the Spirit to convict them either to their repentance or to their judgment.
God wants to deal with them, but He does not want to go through you to get to them.
He wants you safely out of the way and healed.
Beloved, don’t fall for the enemy’s accusations against God.
His goodness is able to heal every wound the enemy inflicts on us.
Forgive those who have hurt you and allow God to heal your broken heart.
Blessings!
