Have you ever had a close friend say or do something that hurt you?
I have, and it really stinks!
My default reaction to rejection is to withdrawal and put up my emotional defenses.
A number of years ago, the Lord taught me the 3 step Process of Forgiveness, when a close friend wounded me deeply.
In this week’s Nugget of Truth video, I share my testimony of how the Lord taught me this invaluable lesson of:
- letting the cross pay the debt,
- choosing to take down my defenses and live at peace,
- and choosing to agape again.
After choosing to agape my friend again, the Lord Jesus spoke very clearly in my spirit saying, “You know, Robyn, I do this for you everyday knowing full well the next time that you are going to sin and hurt Me.”
Every time I choose my flesh over resting and living out of His Life in me, I reject Him, and it hurts Him. But, He is always ready to restore fellowship with me as I confess my sin, reclaim the ground I gave to the enemy, and seek a fresh flow of His Spirit.
Please note that my relationship with Him remains intact, even when I sin. It’s my ability to have fellowship with Him that is hindered until I confess my sin and seek His forgiveness and restoration of fellowship with Him.
So, I hope you will take that time to view this week’s Nugget video, and over the course of the week, ask the Lord to show you who you need to forgive.
Make a list of people and the specific ways that they hurt you. (Don’t forget yourself and possibly even God)
Next week, I will walk you through a prayer that you can use to break free from the bondage of bitterness and enter into the freedom of forgiveness.
I hope this encourages you and that you will share it with your friends.
Blessings!
Robyn
