A military wife waited six months for her husband to return from deployment.
Although she could look at photographs of her spouse and even communicate through video chats, those were never fully satisfying.
They only built stronger anticipation for the day when he would arrive home in person.
2 Timothy 4:8 says:
“the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to His appearing.”
If we are eagerly looking forward to the Rapture, what will the Holy Spirit do in our lives?
1 John 3:2-3 answers that question:
“Beloved, we are already God’s children, but He has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He really is. And all who have this eager expectation will keep themselves pure, just as He is pure.”
As we are eagerly looking forward to the Rapture, the Holy Spirit will be reproducing Christ’s Life in and through us as we yield to Him moment-by-moment.
This is the real purpose of the study all prophetic Scripture.
It causes us to live for the eternal and eagerly look forward to meeting our wonderful Savior face-to-face.
This will lead us to keep our eyes riveted on Jesus the One who birthed our faith and the One who will bring it to maturity.
Sometimes, I wonder if one of the reasons many believers are not growing to maturity is that the prophetic Word is not taught much anymore.
People are more interested in the here and now and not our wonderful future.
I am a big believer in the power of the prophetic Word to change believer’s lives in the here and now.
One of the opportunities that the Lord has given me with ELM Philly is teaching Prophecy Conferences.
I would be glad to come to your church to encourage believers with God’s prophetic Word.
Let me close with Revelation 22:20:
“Jesus, the One who says these things are true, says, ‘Yes, I am coming quickly.’ Amen, Come, Lord Jesus!”
Maranatha! Come quickly, Lord Jesus!
