Everyone of us has experienced it.
We all dread it.
We think up ways to avoid it.
What is it? REJECTION
Why does rejection hurt so deeply?
God never designed us to experience rejection, so we are not equipped to process it.
If our souls are like the proverbial round hole, then rejection is the square peg.
Rejection does not fit into our souls. So when people pound it into us, it HURTS!
Rejection also has the same effect that sugar has on an engine: it creates dysfunction.
God created us to experience His love and acceptance, but sin has left us disconnected from God from Day One.
It’s inevitable that at some point we will receive messages of rejection from those we are looking to for unconditional love and acceptance.
We internalize this rejection and flesh patterns form in an effort to protect us against more rejection.
