Have you ever felt so ashamed over your sins that you felt that you could not come before God.

After all, He had to be so disappointed in you that He would turn His back on you and give up on you.

That’s exactly what Satan and the power of sin wants you to feel and believe.

Sin loves to tempt you and when you take the bait, it turns and hits you with a big old shame stick.

Wham! Wham! Wham!

This is one of his most effective tactics to keep you from the One who loves you and can free you from the illusion of sin’s power over you.

Beloved, now that we are in Christ instead of in Adam, the authority of sin is broken.

We have died to sin.

But even in what Paul writes in Romans 7 seems contradictory.

If I’ve died to sin, why can it still influence me to choose to do that which I don’t want to do?

Every day I have to choose which ‘channel’ I tune into… Channel Spirit or Channel Flesh.

I can either listen to the Holy Spirit combined with my spirit or the power of sin which connects with my flesh.

Remember that the flesh is the patterns learned by me to interact in this world to get feel good’s in and keep the feel bad’s out.

It’s living out of my own strength.

Setting my mind on the truth of God’s Word from the first moment of the day is critical.

Then, learning to ask God for His directions in all things enables us to connect with the mind of Christ in us.

Putting on the armor every morning is a great way to set our minds.

Beloved, even when you get tripped up by sin, do not let shame whack you.

Jesus paid for all of our sins.

All means all.

In a recent sermon, my Pastor related an interaction with the Holy Spirit after struggling with shame.

The Spirit told him to stop worshiping at the altar of his sin and belittling His grace.

And He warned him that if he kept doing that, he would be treading on the blood of Jesus and insult the Spirit of Grace.

Jesus’ Blood and God’s Grace have defeated sin and shame.

So, when you tune into the flesh and sin, come to His throne of grace.

Confess you sin and realign with Jesus paired with the real you, who is freed from sin and victorious over it.

Ask God to show you His way of escape when temptation comes.

Make the needs adjustments He shows you.

Yield the battle to Him by aligning with the mind of Christ in you.

Blessings!
