Ministry News
Greetings once again in the name of our blessed Savior and Lord Jesus Christ! I hope you had a great time with family and friends over this Summer.
Urgent Prayer is needed! On September 11th, Pastor Ken Keeler was seriously injured in a car accident. He broke several ribs and his leg along with an arm laceration. Yesterday, a chest tube was inserted because one of his lungs collapsed. He will spend some time in the hospital, and it will be a while before he will be out speaking at churches and conferences. Please keep him and his wife, Linda, in your prayers.
The Lord continues to enable me to juggle my counseling duties with mom’s care. I am just in my office to counsel and shoot video blogs while doing most of my administrative work from home to be available to mom. In November, I will be speaking at a ladies’ workshop in Coatesville, PA.
Thank you for your many kind comments on our Facebook page and blog page on our website. Both Ken and I really enjoy sharing the wonderful Exchanged Life Truths each week in our Nugget of Truth blogs. If you haven’t seen them, please take a moment a check out our latest blogs entries.
Testimony Time
Maxine had been to several Christian counselors, and the latest one wasn’t even willing to start their time with prayer. She had enough. She found our ministry online and called for an appointment.
In our first session, I learned that she too is a counselor and is well versed in her identity in Christ. She shared her history of being raised in an abusive home which led to rebellious behaviors and eventually boarding school. Every significant relationship in her life told her she was no good.
At this time, her biggest source of stress is her husband. He is a lukewarm Christian at best and has little capacity to affirm her because he too carries a lot of rejection baggage from his youth. However, he is unwilling to get help to heal.
In our time together, Maxine has been allowed to express her frustration in her marriage. But, I’ve also challenged her to adjust her expectations of her husband and to learn to rest in the love she has from her Heavenly Husband, Jesus, so that she can avoid the emotional roller coaster that happens when we look to people to do only that which Jesus can do.
Maxine is learning what true agape is and how Jesus always loves her with His immeasurable agape love. His love is what will enable her to respond in love to her husband and to stand firm in her faith even when the enemy uses her husband to launch his fiery missiles at her. It’s not fun to be the recipient of friendly fire, but faith in God snuffs out the fire and enables us to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.
Update on Mom (Emma)
Thanks for your faithful prayers for mom. Mom was recently recertified to stay on hospice which is a big relief for me because we could not afford to pay for in home help otherwise.
Her decline is still slow. She has trouble sometimes recovering her breath and oxygen levels after walking the short distance from the bathroom to the living room or her bedroom. The other night she had some chest pains too. I still hold out hope that she’ll make it to the Rapture, but that means it has to happen really soon!
Please keep her in your prayers and me too as I face a variety of daily decisions about her care. Thank you!
