Have you ever struggled with worrying about how you were going to make ends meet and put food on the table?

In His Sermon on the Mount, Jesus tells us to stop worrying about even our most basic needs for food, drink and clothing.

Why?  Because, our Heavenly Father knows that we needs these things, and life consists of so much more.

He then illustrates God’s love by pointing out how God provides for the birds who do nothing to acquire food.

Then, Jesus points out the reality that we are so much more valuable than birds.

Why then do we worry?

The problem is that our worry is rooted in unbelief.

We are more prone to believe that God doesn’t love us because we are so messed up.

Or, God allows trials in our lives, and then, the enemy convinces us that God hates us or can’t be trusted.

Maybe, we’ve bought into old adages like, “God helps them who help themselves.”

So, we are robbed by the enemy of any sense of security in God’s love.

God’s love for us never changes.

Why?  Because it depends on Him not us.

He is the very essence of Agape; it’s Who He is.

We do not provoke nor do we deter His love for us by our performance.

Beloved, you cannot do anything that will cause God to no longer love you.

No, know this: He is not always pleased with our choices.

He is grieved when we choose sin over His path.

He knows it can only bring us pain and rob us of life when we pursue our flesh.

However, His love for us remains the same: it’s crazy love!

It’s a love that drove Him to send Jesus to die on our behalf, so that we  could be reconciled to Him.

If He didn’t withhold Jesus, why would He ever think of withholding our needs?

So, beloved, rest in His love that values you just as He values Jesus.

Jesus never lacked for what He needed on earth and neither will we.

Give thanks and rejoice in all that He provides for us in Christ Jesus!

Blessings!
