Many of you know that I have the privilege of caring for my mom who is on hospice.
Her decline has been slow but steady.
If the Lord tarries and takes my mom home with Him, it will not only be hard emotionally, but also it will create quite an upheaval for me personally.
Well, I was allowing my mind to dwell on these changes, but more importantly, I was trying to figure out how I was ever going to make enough money to make ends meet without her Social Security Income.
I wasn’t thinking too long before the Holy Spirit interrupted me by saying in my spirit, “Do you really think I am going to stop providing for you?”
I sheepishly responded, “No, of course not.”
And, then I reset my mind on truth and focused on His faithfulness.
There has NEVER been a day in my life that I didn’t have all that I needed.
In my flesh, my Achilles’ heel is finances.
I easily fall for the lie that having money in the bank makes me secure.
While it’s nice to have a good savings account, it does not in any way shape or form make me secure.
So many things beyond my ability or right to control can drain my savings.
The reality is that Papa has been and always will be faithful to provide all that I need according to His riches in Christ Jesus.
Beloved, this is not a blank check to name and claim whatever I want; rather, it’s the truth that sets me free from worrying about how I will survive tomorrow.
Jesus exhorts us not to worry about tomorrow, because we don’t have a clue what tomorrow will really hold.
Instead, He wants us focused on learning to rely on Him for everything….today.
Our Papa who was faithful yesterday, will be faithful today and tomorrow.
Like most of us, I struggle sometimes with wanting to see the ‘how’ of His plan.
Jesus is not obligated to show me the ‘how’ in advance, and most of the time, His purpose in not showing His ‘how’ is to teach me to rest in what I do know:
my Husband, Jesus, is faithful to provide every day for me.
So, beloved, let’s focus on enjoying Jesus today knowing that He is more than enough for all that we need.
Blessings!
