Three friends were discussing death and one asked the group: “What would you like people to say about you at your funeral?”
The first friend said he would like people to say, “He was a great humanitarian, who cared about his community.”
The second said he would like people to say, “He was a great husband and father, who was an example for many to follow.”
The third said he would like people to say, “Look, he’s moving!!”
Praise the Lord! Jesus was moving on that first Easter!
Christ’s resurrection assures us of His living presence with us in our daily walk.
Revelation 1:18 says,
“I am the living one who died. Look, I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and the grave.”
Christ is ever present with us because of His resurrection from the dead.
He will never leave us nor will He forsake us.
Christ’s living presence is with us in our daily walk so we can deal with life in this world.
His resurrection also assures us that we have a sympathetic High Priest in heaven, who always lives, so He can continue to pray for us as we face the temptations of life.
Christ’s resurrection also assures us of His power for our daily walk.
We have resurrection power at our disposal, the same power that raised Jesus from the dead.
Ephesians 1:19-20 says:
“I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe Him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.”
In Philippians 3:10 it says:
“That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection.”
The Lord wants us to know Him more and more intimately because then we learn to tap into His resurrection power.
The husband of a recently married couple intensely loved his young bride.
He wanted to provide her with the best home, clothes and other things, but being unskilled, he had to hold down two jobs to do so.
He was able to provide for her many good things, but unable to spend much time with her and get to know her more intimately.
Eventually, she left him for a man who was willing to build an intimate relationship with her.
As we build an intimate relationship with Christ, we can realize His resurrection power for our daily walk.
Let’s celebrate Easter knowing what His resurrection assures us!
Blessings!
