In the last blog, I shared about what I call nuclear warfare prayer.
This week, I am presenting you with some of the very basics of how to pray a warfare prayer in order to reclaim ground that Satan is claiming in your life.
First off, warfare prayers need to be prayed aloud.
In the armor of God section of Ephesians 6, Paul used the word, rhema, for Word in reference to the Word of God. This Greek word is translated ‘spoken word.’
Next, I encourage people to use the full title of Jesus.
So, these prayers start with, “in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.”
Why do we use the full title? Simply because there are demons that go by the name of Jesus, so you want to be sure they submit to the true Lord Jesus Christ.
Then, you call to attention the spirits that are targeting you (such as spirits of bodily affliction, lust, anger, fear, depression) and bind them into one whole spirit.
After that, you reclaim the ground they are claiming in your life and plead the blood of them Lamb over your sins, iniquities and transgressions and declare them forgiven.
Follow with quoting Luke 10:19 which declares the authority that Jesus has given us to tread safely upon serpents and scorpions which are illustrative of demonic beings.
“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
Then, you mop up with robbing them of their strength and power over you, reversing their workings in your life, and sending them to the great white throne for Jesus to deal with.
Now, you’re probably like, “Say what?”
