Did you know that 25 percent of the bones in your body are located in your feet?

Your little finger contributes more than 50 percent of your hand’s strength.

Like your fingerprint, your tongue has its own unique print.

The brain contains 86 billion nerve cells joined by 100 trillion connections which number more than all of the stars in the Milky Way.

When we learn about the intricate and careful design of our physical bodies, we should stand in awe of our wonderful Creator God.

Psalm 139:14 says,

Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.”

We are all God’s masterpieces!

The Apostle Paul wrote in Ephesians 2:10,

“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus.”

To the church at Corinth, Paul wrote,

“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”

Just as God created us physically as His masterpiece, so also He are made us His spiritual masterpieces.

All who receive Jesus Christ as their personal Savior are a spiritual masterpiece in their human spirit.

This happened the moment we believed, since it was instantly recreated into the image of Jesus Christ.

Paul taught this in Ephesians 4:24,

“…the new man, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.”

Those of us who have received Christ by faith are already just like Christ in our human spirit.

His goal for us after we are saved is for us to progressively become like Him in our soul, which is our mind, emotions, and will.

This process is called spiritual growth.

A woman went to a diet center to lose weight and the director took her to a full-length mirror.

On it he outlined a figure and told her, “This is what I want you to be like at the end of the program.”

Days of intense dieting and exercise followed, and every week the woman would stand in front of the mirror, discouraged because her bulging outline didn’t fit the director’s ideal.

But, she kept at it, and finally one day she conformed to the longed-for image.

Beloved, we never have to be discouraged, because in our human spirit, we are already in the image of Christ!

In this life, we walk by faith in His power to become like him in our soul.

Do not be discouraged because Paul exhorts us,

“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”

May we be in awestruck wonder of our God’s masterpiece in recreating us in Christ Jesus!

Blessings!
