“In the beginning, God created….”

If you make something, does that imply ownership?  Absolutely!

As our Creator, God designed us to function in the manner in which He intended for us to function so we could experience Life in His Fullness.

He also has given us the Bible as a User’s Manual, so to speak.

To be ‘functional’, we need to operate based on His guidelines.

When we choose to make up our own guidelines – no matter how good they seem to us, there can only be one result: Dysfunction.

God designed the beautiful covenant relationship called marriage.

He declared it to be between a man and a woman.

God designed sexual intimacy, and through it, He allowed a husband and wife to experience the marvel of procreation.

He made both marriage and sex good.

But, he established guidelines that need to be followed in order for the ‘goodness’ of marriage and sex to be experienced.

When His guidelines are not followed, dysfunction and its resultant hurt and pain are inevitable.

Unfortunately, in the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve decided that they would be the ones who decided what was ‘good’ for them instead of simply trusting in God’s guidelines.

Ever since that choice was made, Mankind has proudly declared, “We will decide what’s good.”

What troubles me the most about the recent Supreme Court ruling on marriage, is the utter arrogance behind it.

They have attempted to rewrite God’s User’s Manual.

God made marriage; God alone gets to define marriage.

Here’s God’s response to this ruling:

“Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who substitute darkness for light, and light for darkness… therefore, as a tongue of fire consumes stubble… so their root will become like rot and their blossom will blow away like dust; for they have rejected the law of the LORD of Hosts, and despised the Word of the Holy One of Israel.” (Isaiah 5: 20, 24)

It is PRIDE that is killing our country.

As a nation we are rejecting the God who made us by rejecting what He has called good.

There is only one possible end to the path that we are on: Destruction.

It is up to God’s people, His Church, to HUMBLE ourselves and pray and to seek His face hoping He will have mercy and heal our land.

Beloved, please join with me in praying for a spiritual awakening that leads to repentance in our land.

Blessings!
