The Lord recently used a dream to call my attention for my need to get back to warfare intercession.
Part of the dream had me walking into a room with a few familiar colleagues, but I was keenly aware that bad guys had infiltrated another building on the compound.
I told them to get the sheriff and his deputy and tell them to bring their weapons and join me in rounding these bad guys up.
Now, I rarely remember my dreams, but I know that the Lord can use them to get our attention.
I prayed into it, and the Lord showed me that I needed to remember that He is the Sheriff and He has deputized His children and given them His authority to deal with the bad guys.
He was calling me back to warfare intercession for our ministry here as well as for our nation.
Just as Jesus deputized His disciples for their training missions, so also has He given every believer His authority to rebuke the enemy and call for God’s will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.
We are seated in Christ Jesus at the right hand (the position of authority) of the Father in the position of victory.
We are called to pray in a way that calls for the will of God to be executed on earth as it has been ruled on in heaven.
Beloved, we represent His government on this earth.
He has revealed His will through His written Word.
The enemy has a will too.
Satan wants to govern this earth and delay his judgment.
As Father’s deputies, we are to use the divine weapons that He has given us (His Word, worship and faith) to do battle against the spiritual forces of wickedness.
The church has lost sight of her authority and responsibility to see to it that God’s will is carried out on earth as it is in heaven.
We have disengaged from our communities and compromised with evil instead of standing up against it.
I know how this dream helped me to shift back into engaging the enemy.
I had gotten lazy and distracted… and tired of the fight.
Thank You, Lord Jesus, for using a dream to get my attention.
Beloved, we have been given both the authority and the weapons to engage the enemy and win!
Let’s get back to declaring God’s Word in prayer against all that the enemy is trying to do to destroy our nation and the church.
Jesus has already assured us of victory, but it is up to us to use what He has given us in His power to defeat the strategies of the enemy.
