A wealthy English merchant was satisfied with nothing but the best.

His pride and joy was a Rolls Royce coupe which he had owned for years and which gave him great service over the years.

One day while driving down a bumpy road, his car hit a deep pot-hole in the road and this resulted in a broken rear axle.

He had his car shipped back to the Rolls plant in England and was surprised by the quick repair that was performed.

He received no bill for the work, and knowing his warranty had run out, expected one.

He waited for months and still no bill came.

So, he finally communicated with the company about the bill for his car repairs.

Again, the response from the factory was immediate.

The reply said, “We have thoroughly searched our files and find no record of a Rolls Royce axle ever breaking.”

This is a case where the integrity and excellence of that company would not permit a flaw in workmanship or materials to be made known.

The excellence of Christ does not permit our flaws to be made known to the Father.

He accomplished our forgiveness, by canceling our sins from God’s record to be remembered no more.

Hebrews 9:26 says this in the Amplified Bible:

“For then would He often have had to suffer [over and over again] since the foundation of the world. But as it now is, He has once for all at the consummation and close of the ages appeared to put away and abolish sin by His sacrifice [of Himself].”

The phrase “to put away and abolish sin” means “cancellation.”

The idea is that our sins were cancelled from God’s records and are to be remembered no more!

God has completely released us from the sins against us because He canceled our debt.

They are gone completely!

What happens when we use a calculator and get our information confused or make an error?

We press the “clear” button and automatically all of the information is eliminated from the calculator.

Then, we begin again without trying to sort out previous mistakes.

In fact, there is no record of our mistake.

It is lost forever!

That’s what happens to our sins when God forgives us.

The guilt (the legal condemnation for the offense) is gone.

We can love and serve the Lord because we know His only attitude is one of complete love and acceptance because we are already forgiven in Christ!

Are we enjoying God’s complete and perfect forgiveness?

Let’s praise God for our loving Savior who has taken our debt and paid for it on the cross!

Blessings!
