What makes you feel alive?

What sustains you?

On the heels of His encounter with the Samaritan woman, the disciples urged Jesus to eat.

He replied to them, “I have food to eat that you do not know about.”

They were confused thinking someone else gave him food.

He went on to say, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to accomplish His work.”

No one has ever come close to matching Jesus’ surrender and submission to His Father’s will.

Nevertheless, wisdom directs us to pursue the path of surrender and obedience.

This is where life is found: in Him.

I have several quotes in my office and the Lord drew my attention back to this one today.

It’s a profound prayer.

“Lord, I give up all my own plans and purposes, all my own desires and hopes, and accept Thy will for  my life.  I give up myself, my life, my all, utterly to Thee to be Thine forever.  Fill me and seal me with Thy Holy Spirit, use me as Thou wilt, send me where Thou wilt, work out Thy whole will in my life at any cost, now and forever.”

Sounds great, doesn’t it.

The real me… who I am now in Christ… agrees wholeheartedly.

However, the imposter me is still resisting in fear that God’s path will make me miserable.

This imposter is deceived and arrogant.

She thinks she knows better than God.

Thankfully, the cross has set me free from the imposter flesh and every time she shows up is an opportunity to uproot fear and unbelief.

The truth is that doing God’s will is what produces the fruit of joy, and joy is the best addiction out there.

When I am resting in my Father’s love, there is no fear in doing His will, only joy.

If you want to experience real life, sustaining life, then surrender to Your Father’s will.

As you walk humbly with Him, His life force flows through you and you will bring forth much fruit….much life.

If you’re scared to surrender, ask the Spirit to show you what lies you’ve believed against the character of God.

Renounce them.

Ask Him to speak truth to those lies.

Declare alignment with the truth and rest in His perfect love for you.

Walk on in His will in His strength for His glory.

Blessings!
