The Counseling Ministry

Greetings once again in the name of our blessed Savior and Lord Jesus Christ! Here in the Northeast, it feels like Spring outside which puts most folks in a really good mood.

Because my Mom’s needs have increased,  my counseling hours have decreased.  I can only leave her for about 2 hours at a time when a hospice aide is not here.  There’s more on Mom on page 2.

I‘ve managed to do most of  my administrative work from home on my laptop. So, I am in the office mainly when I have sessions.

Please be praying that the Lord sends  ELM more donations to make up for less revenue from sessions.  Mom has become my primary ministry in her final days here.

The ELM Board met with the Keelers and agreed that he would be a great addition to our staff.  We are still awaiting the Keelers’ decision.  If Ken joins ELM, his  role will be to fill pulpits, present ELM at missions conferences, and teach Exchanged Life conferences throughout the greater Philadelphia area.

The Nuggets are getting some good feedback as viewership is increasing.  Please pray that more folks subscribe to the ELM blog and SHARE the videos on Facebook.

Testimony Time

Oscar is an articulate young man with a real heart for the Lord.  He started having anxiety and panic attacks at night, so sleep was almost impossible. His parents are in full-time ministry, and had some knowledge of spiritual warfare.  They were uncertain whether his issues were physical, mental or spiritual.

Since they lived in a neighboring state, they contacted me to discuss his symptoms.  I started by sending them some warfare prayers to use with him, and there was a bit of improvement.

They had to be in my area, so we set an appointment for his mom to bring him in to meet with me.  We talked through his symptoms as well as the tactics Satan likes to use to steal our peace and sleep.

I led him through some of the Steps to Freedom warfare prayers, and he experienced a real difference when we were done.  We also talked through how some vitamins help with emotional balance, and their importance as he goes through some physical changes.

His mom reported to me recently that he is sleeping through the night now.  Also, he is learning that not all of this thoughts originate with him, so he has to capture the ones that are from Satan and dismiss them through prayer.

Oscar has been blessed to learn some battle tested lessons at a young age.  I am excited to see how the Lord uses this in his life!

 Mom Update

Thanks for your faithful prayers for mom, Emma. She spent Christmas in the hospital with Congestive Heart Failure (CHF).  They drained more fluid that accumulated between her lung and chest wall, and inserted a permanent catheter called a PleurX.

She came home on Palliative care, but we transitioned to Hospice in January.  After having some issues with the first hospice, I opted to switch to the one that took care of my Dad in his final days.

Now, I have a great nurse and aide.  The nurse drains her PleurX twice a week, and the aide sits with her for 90 minutes three times a week.

I use that time to get over to the office or run errands.  Mom is still able to walk short distances.  When I leave her alone, I set up the commode for her to use, but I’ve caught her making to walk to the bathroom unattended.

She can be so stubborn!  She doesn’t understand how easily she can trip on the oxygen line.  These last few days have shown a drop in her O2 levels after activity.

It’s likely that her pulmonary pressures are increasing.  CHF has no pattern.  There can be ups and downs as they decline.  I covet your prayers as I make decisions in her care.

ELM Finances

Thank you so much to all of you who have made donations this last quarter!

I am blessed to still able to take monthly paychecks, and all ELM bills are paid, but I’ve had to dip into the ministry’s reserves to do so.

Please pray that counseling revenue and donations increase this next quarter.

Please consider making your tax deductible donation to ELM.

You can do so directly on our website by clicking on the Donation tab or by sending in a check to our address.

Simply, make your check payable to ELM.

Every donation helps!  Thank you so much for your support!
