Three friends were discussing death, and one asked the group:

What would you like people to say about you at your funeral?

The first one said he would like people to say, “He was a great humanitarian, who cared about his community.”

The second said he would like people to say, “He was a great husband and father, who was an example for many to follow.”

The third man said he would like people to say, “Look, he’s moving!!”

Praise the Lord! Jesus was moving on that first Resurrection Day!

Today is the day after Resurrection Sunday but how can we experience resurrection every day?

Christ’s resurrection assures us of His living presence with us in our daily walk.

Revelation 1:13,18 says,

“And standing in the middle of the lamp stands was the Son of Man.  He was wearing a long robe with a gold sash across his chest.  I am the living one who died.  Look, I am alive forever and ever!  And I hold the keys of death and the grave.”

Christ is ever present with His church because of His resurrection from the dead.

He will never leave us nor will He forsake us.

Christ’s living presence is with us in our daily walk so we can deal with the problem of life in an upbeat way.

Christ’s resurrection assures us of a sympathetic High Priest in heaven for our daily walk.

The resurrected Christ always lives so He can continue to pray for us as we face the temptations of life.

There is never a need that our sympathetic high priest cannot meet.

Because of this we can come boldly before His gracious throne knowing He is willing to meet our every need.

Christ’s resurrection assures us of His power for our daily walk.

We have resurrection power at our disposal, the same power that raised Jesus from the dead.

Are we using it?

Philippians 3:10 says,

I can really know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised Him from the dead.”

As we know the Lord more and more intimately, we tap more and more into His power.

We may serve God and obey Him, but this is not enough.

God wants us to know him intimately, to have a relationship with him.

The husband of a recently married couple intensely loved his young bride.

He wanted to provide her with the best home, clothes and other things, but being unskilled he had to hold down two jobs to do so.

He was able to provide for her many good things, but unable to spend much time with her.

Eventually, she left him for a man who spent more time with her.

God surely wants our service, but more importantly, He wants us to have a personal relationship with Him.

As we build an intimate relationship with Christ, we can realize His resurrection power for our daily walk.

Christ’s resurrection assures of His resurrection life to be lived out in our daily walk.

2 Corinthians 4:10-11 reads this way in the Amplified Bible,

“Always carrying about in the body the liability and exposure to the same putting to death the Lord Jesus suffered, so that the resurrection life of Jesus also may be shown forth by and in our bodies.  For we who live are constantly experiencing being handed over to death for Jesus sake, that the resurrection life of Jesus also may be evidenced through our flesh which is liable to death.”

May we allow Resurrection to be ongoing in our lives!

Blessings!
