Have you ever taken a trip back to a place that had special memories for you?

I had that opportunity on April 10th to return to a retreat center where the Lord first interrupted my life by speaking in my spirit.

While there, I was led to film this blog as a followup to my last blog on the symbolism of the cross.

A friend had sent me two Family Talk links of interviews with Messianic Rabbi Jason Sobel.

He added to the symbolism that the Lord had shown me about the Cross representing the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.

Here’s what he added:

  • Jesus’ hands were nailed to the tree because it was the hands of Adam and Eve that took the fruit.
  • His feet were nailed because of the prophetic curse spoken to Satan…. he would bruise His heel.
  • His side was pierced because Eve was taken from Adam’s side and she was covered in His sacrifice.
  • The crown of thorns spoke to the curse on the earth to produce thorns; thus all creation would benefit from His sacrifice.
  • He was laid in a garden tomb symbolizing the restoration of the Garden of Eden.

Every aspect of His death on the cross was precise.

As smart as Satan is, his depravity blinded him to the plan that was laid out to him in Genesis 3.

He thought he won when Jesus died.

The truth is: God won; Jesus won; we won.

Satan was defeated that day.

He is still defeated.

We have the victory over sin and death thanks to the finished work of the cross.

Beloved, we are seated in Christ Jesus at the right hand of the Father in a position of victory over Satan, sin and death.

As we appropriate that victory here on earth, the enemy has no hold on us or grounds to accuse us before the Righteous Judge.

Thank You for the cross, Lord Jesus!

Blessings!
